Medical support across three SailGP seasons
Medical command, on-water response and event safety cover

On-water racing, high-speed foiling and large crowds leave no room for improvised medical planning.
Across three seasons, Arc Safety + Medical supported SailGP events in Dubai, Christchurch, Auckland, Sydney and Perth, covering operations across water, stadium and site build.
Planning for a global series
Each location brought its own operating environment: offshore response, high-speed foiling, large crowds and local agency networks.
Arc planned in depth with SailGP’s Global Medical Director and embedded rescue team, coordinating with international agencies and authorities across time zones.
Medical cover across water and land
Arc provided a coordinated medical and safety response across the event footprint, including:
- 01
Medical command, coordinating the overall response.
- 02
On-water medical support for the racing environment.
- 03
Stadium and crowd medical cover.
- 04
Medical services and safety officer cover during site build.

When the sea becomes a racetrack
Traditional sailing has long had familiar hazards: hands caught in winches, a sailor struck by a boom. F50 foiling catamarans change the scale. On 22 August 2026, an F50 set SailGP’s all-time speed record at 107.63 km/h.
At that pace, a serious incident can demand a response closer to high-speed road trauma than traditional sailing medicine — except the road is open water. There is no fixed roadside scene: the race craft is moving, and responders must reach it by water.
Reaching a patient, delivering care and coordinating a safe transfer mean accounting for sea state, access, distance and timing, while the wider race operation keeps changing. The challenge is clinical and logistical at once.
Arc’s teams have supported some of SailGP’s most serious incidents. Details of specific incidents and patients remain confidential.

Client testimonial
Trusted across water and land
“Arc Safety and Medical delivered exceptional medical support at SailGP providing a highly skilled team across both water and land operations. Their coordination with the wider international team and authorities — despite time zone challenges — was seamless. Well-organised, clinically excellent, and easy to work with, Arc gave us complete confidence throughout the event. I’d gladly work with them again.”
