Repco Supercars Championship, Christchurch 2026

Trackside and pitlane medical support

Race pack competing during the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship in Christchurch.

When something goes wrong on a race track, there’s no time to work out a plan. It has to exist already.

For the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship in Christchurch, Arc Safety + Medical built that plan, and the team to carry it out.

01

The plan behind the response

Over several months, we worked with the event organiser and other agencies to develop a comprehensive Medical Response Plan. It set out how incidents would be responded to, the capability of each part of the team, the local hospitals patients could be taken to, and the key locations every responder needed to know.

The aim was simple. By race weekend, every person on the team would know their role, their position and where a patient would go next.

On track and in the pitlane

Arc led a 17-person team focused on the high-risk work, the circuit and the pitlane, with:

  • 01

Two Medical Intervention Vehicles, ready to reach an incident on track quickly.

  • 02

Pitlane medics, working where crews operate at close quarters and at speed.

  • 03

A medical clinic staffed by intensive care and emergency physicians and nurses, providing assessment and treatment on site.

  • 04

A transport ambulance for anyone who needed to go to hospital.

Supercars lined up in the pitlane before a race session.

The result

The event was delivered with no major issues. For a medical team, that’s the outcome months of planning are for.

Arc has since been reappointed for a further two years, through to 2028.
